Do I need to know how to dance in order to participate?

You do not  need any prior dance experience! Be You Disco is all about free form movement, ecstatic dance, and listening to your body's impulses.

This is not a "follow the leader" dance class. It is a space where you are encouraged to move how you feel in each moment and is the perfect space for those that think they can't dance.

There is no wrong way to dance here. Your self-expression is perfectly imperfect and we welcome it all on our sandy dance floor.

What happens at Ecstatic Dance?

Ecstatic Dance is a spontaneous free-form dance experience where individuals can come together to move to music without the constraints of prescribed instructions. In this form of dance, the music takes on the role of the guiding force, allowing participants the freedom to navigate their own unique journey through various sonic landscapes.

Be You Disco is very similar to ecstatic dance, however it offers guidance to help the dancer access deeper emotional states through the experience as well as makes it more accessible for people that may not be familiar with ecstatic dance.

What kind of music can I expect?

We play a wide variety of musical styles, encompassing soulful, global, diverse, profound, tranquil, and groovy melodies.

Music is deeply emotional and at Be You Disco the DJ takes you on an emotional journey where you can dance all parts of yourself so that you feel fully expressed. Some songs embody love, joy, gratitude, while others have the texture of sadness or shame. This ecstatic dance-like experience honors the full spectrum of our human experience through music.

What should I bring?

• Wear clothes that are easy to move in.  
 • Bring a full water bottle.
 • Bring a mat or blanket to sit on the sand during meditations
 • Most importantly, bring an open mind and an open heart!

Can I bring my kids?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we love seeing little ones on the dance floor. This experience is for people of all ages.

I already got my ticket but can no longer attend. Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

You can request a credit to another event up to 7 days prior to the event. If it is past that 7 day period  we unfortunately are not able to offer a refunds.

You may sell or gift your ticket on the Be You Disco Community Facebook group.(https://www.facebook.com/groups/beyoudisco) Just forward your confirmation email with the QR Code to the new recipient and they’re good to go!

Yes, we are a sober party and substance-free event in South Florida.  No intoxicants are permitted during this dance experience as we hope that you feel the natural benefits that movement and human connection can bring. This event welcomes individuals who are on the path to recovery.

What is the point of a silent disco?

A silent disco is an event where participants listen to music through wireless headphones instead of traditional loudspeakers. It allows people to dance and enjoy music without disturbing others nearby.

Silent discos work by providing attendees with wireless headphones that can tune into different audio channels. DJs or music sources broadcast music, and participants can switch between channels to choose their preferred music.

Be You Disco is unique in that it is a guided dance journey and participants only listen to one channel.

There are typically 3-channels with three different kinds of music that you can choose from at a silent disco.

Be You Disco is a unique wellness experience that happens to use silent disco headphones and where everyone listens to the same music.

Yes, in West Palm Beach Be You Disco hosts multiple silent discos  per month on the beach. People get to dance under the moon light, connect with nature, and enjoy an evening of movement, community, and music.
